How these are judged
Criteria differ materially between issuers. The notes below summarise each issuer's stated methodology.
- Hedgeweek
- Industry vote (reader survey) combined with 12- and 36-month annualised performance data; shortlists compiled using Barclayhedge data in certain editions.
- The Hedge Fund Journal
- Risk-adjusted performance assessed over long periods (3, 5 and 6 years).
- WealthBriefing
- Independent panel of judges assessing client experience and proposition — not quantitative performance metrics.
- Crypto Fund Research
- Quarterly and annual rankings based on verified net returns. These are performance rankings, not jury-awarded prizes.
- FinTech Global
- Annual list of 100 companies selected by an expert panel — a recognition, not a competitive award.
